Coaching requirements
Saint Ambrose Coaching requirements
Saint Ambrose of Woodbury School welcomes parent volunteers who have completed our three criteria. There is no mandatory commitment to volunteering at Saint Ambrose. Instead, we believe that parents give generously of their time when they are able. We understand that some families have more flexibility and can volunteer more than others. Our school welcomes all levels of parent volunteer help. Our athletic department relies heavily upon volunteers to make the program run. Without our parent coaches we would have no program. Please consider helping to coach or manage a team.
The three criteria that must be fullfilled before you can become a coach at Saint Ambrose of Woodbury are as follows:
VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children for Adults Awareness Session Attendance – VIRTUS live training is a three hour awareness session which better equips adults to protect children and youth in the world around them. VIRTUS sessions are offered throughout year and at various locations across the archdiocese.
Background Check –The background check is run by an archdiocese-approved agency and provides a criminal history. This is an important step to screen out individuals who might present a danger to children and youth.
Code of Conduct – A person must acknowledge that he or she understands and agrees to the principles and standards outlined in the code of conduct appropriate to his or her ministry.
Athletics for Everyone
Athletics is for EVERYONE at Saint Ambrose. We do not believe in "tryouts" or "if you are good enough to play". Saint Ambrose Athletic is for all our students. This is the place where students can try our a new sport or continue playing a sport they already love. We hope that our athletes will build friendships that can last a lifetime and fall in love with the activities they are trying. All are welcome in Saint Ambrose Athletics.
